texture mapping proj

This is my texture mapping project. I started with a picture I took looking out over a field next to my house. I wanted to incorporate a hot air balloon containing different textures, but struggled to come up with an ironic scene to go with it. I decided to add a scene of Washington DC beyond the field with a hot air balloon flying over because in reality aircraft is not permitted to fly over DC.

  1. I think the contrast between the hot air ballon (which reads as being very flat and non-dimensional) and the city (which has depth and perspective) really contributes to the concept of aircraft not being allowed over Washington DC. I think it would be cool to see the city itself textured and flattened too, but thats not a criticism just a suggestion if you wanted to play around with it further.

  2. I really like the balloon, great job on that. But I feel that there could be more done with the background, like either the buildings or the grass. Very nice though!

  3. I like the idea and deeper meaning of why the balloon is over DC and how in reality it is not even possible. The only thing that bothers me about this image are the textures on the balloon. They seem rough on the edges, as if the new texture does not completely cover up the old one. Maybe it was intentional but the rest of the picture I really like especially how you added multiple settings into one.
